The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has arrested Ms Lorretta Anoh in connection with the brutal killing of her 36-year-old boyfriend, Chikoka Emeka Henry, at his residence in Osongama Estate, Uyo.
According to preliminary police findings, the victim was discovered lifeless with a deep cut to his head—an injury that suggests he may have been violently attacked before his death.
Investigators revealed that Anoh was the last person seen entering the deceased’s apartment on Tuesday, shortly before his body was found. This crucial detail led detectives to trace and apprehend her.
Upon her arrest, police recovered a total sum of N2,943,250 in cash, which they say the suspect confessed to stealing from the victim.
Further investigations uncovered what authorities described as a disturbing trail of intent. Police allege that Anoh had already begun making arrangements to transfer ownership of the deceased’s black Mercedes-Benz 4Matic (registration number EKY 694 GP) to herself. The vehicle had reportedly been removed from the residence before being tracked and recovered by investigators.
The Commissioner of Police in Akwa Ibom State, Amengheme Andrew, has ordered that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Ikot Akpan Abia, for a thorough and comprehensive investigation.
The case has sent shockwaves through the community, raising troubling questions about trust, motive, and the circumstances surrounding the victim’s final moments.
