NDA disowns fake admission letter, warns public against scammers

Must read

The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) has alerted the public to a fraudulent admission letter allegedly issued to one Abubakar Washima, falsely claiming he had secured admission into the institution.

The academy clarified that the letter did not emanate from the NDA and should be disregarded.

In a statement shared on its official X account on Saturday, the Academy Public Relations Officer, Major Reuben Kovangiya, stressed that the document is fake.

“The Nigerian Defence Academy wishes to inform the general public that the purported invitation letter addressed to one Abubakar Washima informing him of being selected into the NDA is fake and did not originate from the NDA,” the statement read.

The academy explained that all legitimate invitations for screening and admission offers are published in national newspapers and on the official NDA website. It advised members of the public to remain vigilant and avoid acting on unverified correspondence.

The NDA further urged anyone who encounters suspicious documents or activities to report them promptly through its official direct messaging channels for verification.

According to the academy, the warning is aimed at protecting prospective candidates from fraud and ensuring that admission-related information is obtained strictly from authorised NDA platforms.
