
The Lagos State Government has commenced recruitment of clinical personnel across its 29 secondary healthcare facilities as part of efforts to strengthen service delivery and address workforce shortages.
In a statement issued on Monday, the Lagos State Health Service Commission said Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu approved the exercise to fill existing vacancies in general hospitals across the state.
The commission noted that the recruitment aligns with the administration’s THEMES Agenda and its commitment to delivering quality healthcare to residents.
“In line with the THEMES Agenda of the present administration and in fulfilling the promise of qualitative healthcare delivery to the residents of Lagos State, Mr Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has approved the recruitment of clinical staff to fill existing vacancies in the 29 secondary healthcare facilities in the state,” the statement read.
According to the commission, the exercise is also aimed at mitigating the impact of brain drain in the health sector and improving access to quality medical services.
Available positions include consultants in various specialties, senior registrars, medical officers, dental officers, pharmacists, physiotherapists, medical laboratory scientists, optometrists, radiographers, nursing officers, clinical psychologists, and health assistants.
The commission said applications will be accepted online only via its recruitment portal, urging interested candidates to apply within the stipulated timeframe.
“The application portal opened on Monday, July 13, 2026, and will close on Friday, July 24, 2026. Only shortlisted candidates will be invited for a computer-based test and interview,” it stated.
It also cautioned applicants against paying any fees, stressing that the recruitment process is free and transparent.
