Must read

Tragedy has struck the family of Nigeria’s late Dictator, General Sani Abacha, as his son, Abdullahi, 36, has died.

He was one of the nine children surviving the late military dictator.

Abdullahi reportedly died in his sleep, found unresponsive, in the wee hours of Saturday at the family’s Nelson Mandela Street residence in Abuja.

News of Abdullahi‘s death came into social and main stream media when his sister and wife of the Yobe State Governor, Mrs. Fatimah Gumsu Abacha-Buni, exposed it on twitter.

Gumsu, who is married to Yobe State’s Governor Mai Mala Buni, took to her social media handles to announce her brother’s death on Saturday afternoon.

She wrote, “Innalillahi wa inna ilahi rajiun (Surely, we belong to Allah and verily to Him do we return). I lost my younger brother Abdullahi Sani Abacha.

“He died in his sleep.

“May Allah forgive his shortcomings and grant him jannatul firdaus (paradise), Ameen. Please include him in your prayers”.

Their father, the late General Sani Abacha, was Nigeria’s Head of State from November 1993 until he died, allegedly, after been fed poisoned apples by some Indian ladies in June 1998.

It was gathered that the funeral prayers for Abdullahi held 4pm at the National Mosque, Abuja today, and he has been buried.
