MC Oluomo bounces back, bags chairmanship of Lagos Parks Management Committee

Must read

The embattled former Lagos State Chairman of National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) Musiliu Akinsanya (aka MC Oluomo) as the Chairman of Parks Management Committee (PMC).

This is coming a day after the national body of NURTW announced the sack of Mr Akinsanya as the chairman of the Lagos chapter of the association. Mr Akinsanya however described his purported sack as a joke, asking if it is possible to sack a worker who had already tendered his resignation.

However, in a statement by the Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy Gbenga Omotoso, the newly constituted committee will oversee the affairs of all motor parks and garages in the State.

This, he said, is in fulfillment of the government’s promise to ensure that events in the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) are not allowed to threaten law and order.

Other members of the committee, who have been selected following consultations with stakeholders in the sector, are: Hakeem Odumosu (AIG Rtd) as Government;

Alhaji Sulyman Ojora – Deputy Chairman; Dr. Taiwo Olufemi Salaam – Secretary; Comrade Olayiwola Lemboye; Alhaji Mustapha Adekunle; Alhaji Ganiyu Shittu; Alhaji Mukaila Runsewe; Alhaji Sulyman Yusuf; Mufutau Mutiu; Yinka Hassan; Sunday Ogunleye; Moshood Omojowa; Ismaila Aigoro; Ibrahim Yusuf; Akeem Tijani; Omolabake Adelakun; Comrade Kazeem Hassan; Wasiu Amole; Ganiyu Ayinde; Anthony Adeyinka Adeboye; John Victor Owolabi; Saburi Salami; Ibrahim Onitiju and Odusanya Gbenga.

Omotoso said members of the committee are to report to the Ministry of Transportation.

The State Government on March 10 suspended NURTW operations in all parks and garages, following the tension sparked by some events in the union and promised to set up a Park Management Committee.
