Former Lagos State governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, has congratulated Kadiri Obafemi Hamzat on his emergence as the consensus governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a statement, Ambode described Hamzat as a loyal and committed party man whose emergence reflects years of dedication and strategic engagement within the party.
“I join members of our great party to congratulate my brother and friend, Dr. Hamzat, on this well-deserved emergence,” he said, commending his deliberate consultations and alignment with the party’s ideals of unity and progress.
Ambode noted that the consensus decision underscores Hamzat’s long-standing loyalty, hard work, and over two decades of service to the APC.
Reaffirming his political stance, Ambode also pledged unwavering support for the re-election of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, emphasizing that Nigeria’s continued growth and Lagos’ prosperity are closely tied to his leadership.
Looking ahead to the elections, he expressed confidence in the party’s readiness to secure decisive victories at both the state and federal levels. He further charged Lagos APC members to mobilize massively, setting an ambitious target of at least three million votes for the President while supporting strong outcomes across the Southwest.
