Co-founder of Vetiva Capital, Olaolu Mudashiru killed in hit- and-run accident

Olaolu Mudashiru, first son of the late Military Administrator of Lagos State, Gbolahan Mudashiru, died this afternoon in Lagos.

Reports indicate that he was killed in a hit-and-run accident on Sunday morning at the upscale Gerrard Road, Ikoyi, Lagos while riding motorbikes with two other friends.

His father, Gbolahan Mudashiru, who died in 2003, was the Military Administrator of Lagos State from January 1984 and August 1986 during the military regimes of General Muhammadu Buhari and his successor General Ibrahim Babangida.

Benjamin Hundeyin, spokesman of the Lagos police command, confirmed the hit-and-run incident to the press.

Hundeyin said the other two persons are “responding to treatment”, adding that no arrest had been made in connection with the incident.

In 2013, Mudashiru lost his mother, Foluke. 

The Olaolu had degrees in investment banking and medicine.

According to the information on the website of Vetiva, Olaolu ”is a Dealing Member of the London Stock Exchange, an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers, Nigeria as well as being a member of the Medical & Dental Council of Nigeria.

“He is also a recipient of the Chevening Scholarship, which is granted to ‘mid-career high flyers’ globally by the British Government.

“Dr. Mudashiru is quite versatile and his 16 years of experience span the spectrum of investment banking covering wealth management, financial intermediation, trading & dealing and executing various transactions in the financial services industry.”
