Kidnappers abduct, kill pastor in Ondo forest after N2m ransom

The lifeless body of a Lagos-based pastor, Frederick Aramuwa who was kidnapped while travelling along the Ipele/Idoani Road in Ondo State has been found, according to the spokesman of the Ondo State Police Command.

The late cleric was said to have been abducted on March 31, 2021, while travelling from Lagos to his hometown in Ifira Akoko in Ondo State.

His abductors later contacted his family and requested a ransom of N10 million which was subsequently reduced to N2m after intense negotiation.

Even though the N2m ransom was later paid, his lifeless body was later discovered in the forest, tied to a tree.

His remains have since been deposited in the morgue at the General Hospital, Ipe-Akoko.

The spokesperson of Ondo State Police Command, DSP Tee-Leo Ikoro, while confirming the death of the pastor said other persons kidnapped along with him have been rescued by the police.

The police spokesperson noted that the police is investigating the incident and hope to apprehend the perpetrators in no distant time.
