Breaking: Soldiers sighted on Abuja streets

Must read

The Federal Government, on Friday, deployed soldiers on the streets of Abuja to arrest the escalating violence that has characterized the #EndSARS protests in the nation’s seat of power.

The protest in Abuja has allegedly been hijacked by hoodlums who have been attacking #EndSARS protesters as well as pro-SARS sympathisers.

Report indicated that one protester who was stabbed by one of the hoodlums died in a hospital.

The AYA roundabout, which was scheduled to be the take-off point for today’s protest was taken over by soldiers who mounted barricades and took charge of the traffic flow.

The Nigerian Army recently announced the commencement of the 2020 edition of ‘Operation Crocodile Smile’ starting from Wednesday, October 20 to December 31, 2020.

Though the Army Spokesperson Colonel Musa Sagir has said the exercise has no relationship with any lawful protest under any guise whatsoever, many have insinuated it was meant to break the protests.
