Auchi Poly Rector Jimah is dead


The Rector of Auchi Polytechnic, Auchi in Edo State, Dr Momodu Sanusi has died.

The News Agency of Nigeria said the doctor of Urban and Regional Planning died on Friday night at exactly 7pm.

Although Fedredsnews was unable to confirm the cause of his death, sources said the deceased had been sick for some weeks.

Public Relations Officer of Auchi Polytechnic, Mr Mustapha Oshiobugie confirmed the news on Saturday.

Oshiobugie said, “The institution is mourning following the demise of her rector who passed away on Friday at 7.00pm after a brief illness.”

“His remains will be committed to mother earth today Saturday at 10 am according to Islamic rites.”

Until his appointment as the substantive Rector, he was in acting capacity as Rector of Auchi Polytechnic.

He was a Chief Lecturer in the Department of Urban & Regional Planning.

He was an Alumnus of the Polytechnic where he obtained the Higher National Diploma in Urban & Regional Planning in 1982, a Post Graduate Diploma in Urban & Regional Planning in 1997 and a Masters in Business Administration in 2003.

In 2007, he obtained his Masters Degree in Geography and Regional Planning of the Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma. In 2011, Jimah bagged his Doctorate Degree in the same field with specialization in Environmental Resource Management.
