Barely a week after security chiefs of the police and the military assured Abuja residents to disregard rumours that Boko Haram terrorists had infiltrated the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, Tunga Maji community, a suburb of Abuja near Zuba was attached by bandits early Thursday morning.
By the time the assault ended, about 20 residents were reportedly abducted and taken away to an unknown destination.
A resident told Fedredsnews on the telephone that the attackers came around 1 am and started shooting indiscriminately. Efforts by the local vigilante to repel the attack were not successful as they were outnumbered and outgunned by the attackers.
Fedredsnews cannot independently confirm if there were casualties or the number of those abducted.
