BREAKING: Political thugs lay siege to Ondo Assembly

Must read

Some political thugs suspected to be All Progressives Party (APC) sympathisers on Monday morning laid siege to the Ondo State House of Assembly, sending pandemonium and panic around the area. The miscreants, numbering more than 200 were seen at the entrance of the main gate of the Assembly complex while their vehicles were parked along the Igbatoro Road leading to the complex.

Sources told Fedredsnews that their presence was not unconnected with the news that the nine members of the House of Assembly, who refused to support the impeachment of Deputy Governor Agboola Ajayi, would be taking their seats today at the House after their sack for going against the bid of the House leadership was upturned by the court.

The lawmakers are Rt. Hon. Iroju Ogundeji (Deputy Speaker), Hon. Jamiu Sulaiman Maito, Hon. Rasheed Olalekan Elegbeleye, Hon. Tomide Leonard Akinribido and Hon. Samuel Edamisan Ademola.

Others are Hon. Favour Semilore Tomomewo, Hon. Festus Akingbaso, Hon. Adewale Williams Adewinle and Hon (Barr.) Torhukerhijo Success.

However, the men of the state police command were said to have prevented the hoodlums from gaining entrance into the complex as visitors and lawmakers were thoroughly searched before being allowed into the Assembly complex.
