Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos has directed all tertiary institutions in the state to reopen on September 14 while the date of reopening for secondary schools is tentatively fixed for September 21.
The governor gave the order on Saturday during a press briefing. Recall that the schools were shut down indefinitely in March following the outbreak of Covid-19.
“This decision is not cast in stone and is subject to review of our ongoing modelling and what procedure comes out from the Ministry of Health,” Sanwo-Olu said.
Only SS3 students participating in the ongoing West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) are allowed in schools for now.
