Dr. Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran, aka Jandor, has officially announced his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Dr Adediran, who ran under the banner of the party in the 2023 governorship election in Lagos State, made this known during a media briefing at his Ikeja office in Lagos on Monday, March 3, 2025.
“We will consult widely with everybody and then take the decision to collapse our structure to another platform. What is majority on the ground now is that we have left the Peoples Democratic Party,” Jandor stated.
At this time, he has not disclosed his next political move or the reasons behind his decision to leave the party.
Before joining the PDP, Jandor was a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and led the Lagos4Lagos Movement, advocating for internal democracy within the party.
He defected to the PDP in January 2022, securing the party’s gubernatorial ticket for the 2023 election. He ultimately finished third in the race, behind the incumbent Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of the APC and Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour of the Labour Party.
Jandor’s departure from the PDP marks another shift in the evolving political landscape of Lagos State, highlighting the ongoing realignments within its political sphere.
